A cold and occasionally wet day. Karola spent much of it out in the cold, with Bramble, putting bamboo mulch round her trees, inside the guards. Karola has decided, given we have mountains of mulch already and the bamboo mulch is, as we were warned long ago, very splintery, she does not want more mulched bamboo and will devise some other way of disposing of the old, rotting bamboo.

I slept in the morning and played around again with programming in the afternoon. I do like the new Apple programming language called Swift. “JB”s newest orchard, across the road and owned previously by “The Brethren”, is being cleared of its current old trees ready for replanting. Amazing how it’s opened up the view of the expressway and makes us pleased we’re on this side of Oak Avene (aka Ormond Road).
